It is simply impossible to imagine a world without credit cards. From a couple of cups Coffee to go on vacation in the Bahamas, credit cards are all you need to make your dreams a reality. But recent events have caused the cards Credit to be seen as nothing more than a tool for getting people deeper into the quicksand of financial ruin. Where are the credit cards taking its consumers? What can people do to minimize the negative effects of current trends in the market for credit cards?
Standard interest rates keep rising
A surprising 80% of all credit cards issued today are interest rates variable. This means that credit card companies that issued these credit cards can increase rates of interest paid each time the Federal Reserve raises benchmark interest rates. Consumers should always read the credit card agreement carefully to avoid being tricked suspects into the trap of low interest rates. Above all, borrowers should make it a point not to be late payments when due dates arrive, as delays in payment only can be seen as a breach of contract and may be a cause for revocation of the low interest offer.
Rates will continue to find true north
During a period of ten years, the average rates of service for purchases made beyond the credit limit, late payments and other violations in credit card agreements have increased almost 100%. Apparently the credit card companies have realized they can benefit both only on rates alone. Therefore, it is never wrong to assume that credit card companies continue to raise their penalty fees.
There is no way for consumers to counteract this but to avoid delays and goes beyond the credit limit. By general rule, consumers are advised to limit their use of the card Credit to half the credit limit to ensure that bills can be paid on time.
