Paying credit card debt information
Today is the effective date for the first phase of Credit Card Reform Bill. I say first step because Most provisions will come into force in February 2010. However, debt credit card relief is starting. This first phase of Credit CARD Act is intended to give more attention to credit card holders who your monthly payment is coming due. Starting today, the credit card companies are obliged to send credit card 21 days before the date expiration. Previously, the credit card companies are obliged to send a bill within 14 days after the due date. Now holders credit card has 7 days to pay your account credit card bill. The second change to take effect today is that companies Credit card required to give cardholders 45 days notice of significant changes to their contract. More ad is a good thing, but people actually read statements? You may ask if a free market advocate and I approve this type of law. I do as far as it does not hurt the availability of credit and individual rights. Being pro-free market does not mean you have to believe in laissez faire. While I strongly believe in individual rights and freedom, there are things the government can do to increase the rights of individuals. I never want to see the principles of the right to freely eroded in this country, but the credit card debt relief that the laws will come into force today does not impinge drastically on our ability to freely contract. The practice of sending cards credit with a short expiry date is ridiculous. The only reason why credit card companies are doing this is to accumulate charges for late payments and are given more opportunities to increase interest rates credit card. Too bad that the credit card companies' main goal is to not only get paid, as originally contracted. Hopefully the Credit Card Act to give consumers more time to pay their credit card accounts time.
