Understanding South African National Credit Act
Before applying for credit, it is important to understand the new National Credit Act and its effect on consumers in South Africa.
In South Africa, the National Credit Act (NCA) has significantly affected the way in which the credit is granted and is used in South Africa. For lenders and borrowers alike, it is important to understand how the ANC, because it affects every credit transaction that takes place in South Africa.
Due to the stricter lending conditions issued by NCA, many consumers have found that the legislation with skepticism, believing that serves to frustrate their attempts to access credit. However, this is a misperception. In fact, the NCA is mainly to protect consumers from excessive debt, increase transparency of the loans, and consumers can make informed decisions about credit.

1. The law serves to protect you, the consumer, against irresponsible lending
This means that you only qualify for the credit reasonably can afford.
