How the new Credit Card Reform Act will benefit consumers
Barack Obama, the U.S. president signed a bill known as Credit Card Reform Act of 2009. This Act was supposed to take effect on July 1, 2010. However, some of the rules already in force. These new rules are expected to benefit the credit card holders in a number of ways. However, before all the rules take effect, verify your information credit account to qualify for programs in trouble if you need to repair your bad credit. It will help you take advantage of the new rules.
Some of the new rules of the Reform Act the credit card are discussed below.
• There are no arbitrary deadlines for bill payments: One of the new rules restrict practice dishonest to set arbitrary deadlines for payment of invoices. From now on, the credit card issuer must States mail at least 45 days prior to the expiration date. Moreover, the target date can not be changed without notice.
• Restrictions rising interest rates: Under the new legislation, credit card companies may not raise interest rates whenever you want. Issuers will have to give at least 45 days notice before increasing interest rates for new transactions. Moreover, the interest rate can only be increase after the first year. The new rate applies only for new business and not in the existing balance.

• Difficult to get credit card if you are under 21: Credit card companies can not issue credit cards to people under 21 years of age. • Restriction of user fees: The excess of the limits and late fees must be reasonable and issuers may not charge penalty fees if customers exceed the credit limits for blocks or holds on your card. Moreover, consumers are not to pay anything for paying bills online or by phone.
The Credit Card Reform Act will help if they face many problems paying your debts credit cards. It is advisable to check the information in your credit score to find out how much you owe on your credit cards. It will help you repair your credit and increase your score.
