The FICO Credit Score
FICO is an acronym for Fair Isaac Corporation.
FICO credit score is a method developed by Fair Isaac & Co. to evaluate its "solvency."
In fact, there are three FICO scores computed to find my FICO score. They are with data provided by each of the three bureaus – Experian, Trans Union and Equifax. Some lenders use one of these three results, while other lenders may use the average score.
Although most widely known score in the United States is FICO (which is the most widely used in industry mortgage), there are many others, such as NextGen and Vantage level.
A credit score attempts to judge the likelihood that a prospective borrower does not pay a loan or other credit commitment during a specified period of time. The credit ratings are based on information in a credit report individual. Lenders use credit scores to assess the potential risk posed by lending money to consumers in an attempt to limit losses related business risk.
Some of these uses include determining who qualifies for a loan, assigning an interest rate, the allocation credit limits and accounts that are already open (eg, treatment of accounts in arrears).
The FICO scores are designed to indicate the likelihood that a borrower is delinquent in the next 24 months. There is no publicly available information to determine what scores means in terms of statistics. A separate score, BNI, is used to indicate the likelihood of bankruptcy.
If your FICO credit score is slightly low, low or permanently, you should consider before applying for any credit repair credit again if that would be a home Equity Line, or loans Auto Purchase students. NextGen scores are the latest results, but creditors vary in which version you prefer to use.
Each credit reporting agencies has developed its own version of credit scoring designed to compete with Fair Isaac score. Although not as widely used, these results (eg, "Trans Union TransRisk" score "of Scorex Experian score) are less expensive than the FICO score. These results are often disparagingly referred to by consumers and lenders as "Fako" results, since no official use Fair Isaac methodologies.
Fair Isaac offers assessment models for the U.S., Canada and South Africa. FICO also offers a "Global" for many other countries.
Although the exact formulas for calculating credit scores are secret Closely Guarded, Fair Isaac has disclosed the following components and the approximate weighted contribution of each:
35% punctuality of payment in the past (only includes payments later than 30 days past due)
30% capacity used: the ratio of current revolving debt (credit card balances, etc) in total available revolving credit (credit limits)
15% length of credit history
rates of 10% of credit used (installment, revolving, the consumer finance)
10% of recent searches for credit and / or amount of credit obtained recently
